MARTIN MILLER’S GIN TAKES TOP ACCOLADES AT GIN MASTERS OF 2020

The world’s most awarded gin brand, Martin Miller’s Gin, has received three new accolades at the Spirits Business Gin Masters of 2020.

At the highly competitive Global Spirits Masters, Martin Miller’s Gin was awarded the highest commendation – the Master medal – for its iconic Westbourne Gin, and received Golds for both its Original blend and its innovative barrel-aged 9 Moons.

Each year, The Spirits Business stages The Gin Masters competition in a drive to find and reward the finest gin brands on the world stage. Chaired by The Spirits Business and a panel of leading specialists, the gins are judged in a blind tasting, with excellence recognised by category.

Martin Miller’s Westbourne Gin – a favourite amongst mixologists looking to give a more ‘old school’ authenticity to their classic repertoire of cocktails – achieved Master status in the Super Premium category. Martin Miller’s Original – considered the purest expression of the brand’s classic taste - was awarded Gold in the Premium category and, aged for nine months in French Oak barrels, Martin Miller’s first cask-aged gin, 9 Moons, achieved Gold in the specialist Cask-Aged category.

Martin Miller’s Gin was the first super premium gin on the market when it launched 20 years ago. Since then the ‘gin renaissance’ followed. Celebrating the brand’s 20th Anniversary, this recognition at The Spirits Business Gin Masters, underpins the success of the brand in continuing the quest to become the benchmark super premium gin globally,

The Martin Miller’s Gin signature smooth taste and soft mouth feel are the two tangible elements which have made the brand’s success since its foundation. Each transforms the other and produces the smooth and soft experience for which it is known. It is this that has made Martin Miller’s Gin the most awarded gin in the world over the last 20 years and what allows it to boast super premium gin status.

The judges commented, “The Gin Masters 2020, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, was once again very competitive this year with 219 entries from 105 different companies, so to receive any sort of medal is something that every company should be extremely pleased with. However, for Martin Miller’s Gin to pick up a Master medal (scored between 90-100 by every judge) and two Gold medals (scored between 80-89 by every judge) from its three entries is a truly fantastic achievement”.

Robert Eastham, Global Sales and Marketing Director, Martin Miller’s Gin says, “Twenty years ago, the founders of Martin Miller’s Gin created a liquid that was to transform a previously dreary sector into one of the most dynamic and successful categories of the drinks industry. Today this category sees record levels of interest and performance and it is therefore a real privilege to have the excellence we have always strived to achieve recognised alongside our peers by this globally renowned programme”.
