THE SPANISH KING AND QUEEN ACCEPT THE HONORARY PRESIDENCY OF THE COMMEMORATIVE EVENTS FOR RAMÓN BILBAO'S CENTENARY

The King and Queen of Spain have accepted the Honorary Presidency of the commemorative events for Ramón Bilbao’s centenary through an official statement sent by the Household of His Majesty the King to Mr. José María de Santiago, president of Zamora Company. The family-owned company, originally from Cartagena and a key pillar of Marca España in the production of premium wine and spirits brands, has received with great satisfaction the institutional support represented by the backing of La Zarzuela Palace for this celebration, which will take place on October 24 at the Ramón Bilbao Winery headquarters in Haro (La Rioja). The event will be attended by authorities and representatives from national and international organisations and institutions within the sector and the food industry. Following this official event, additional meetings with clients, distributors, suppliers, and employees—who play a key role in Ramón Bilbao’s success as a brand—will take place in the following days.

In the words of the president of Zamora Company, "Their Majesties the King and Queen’s support for the centenary celebration of Bodegas Ramón Bilbao represents explicit recognition of Ramón Bilbao for its cultural, economic, and social significance as a flagship brand of Spanish wine, as well as for the entire winemaking sector of our country." De Santiago emphasises that "Their Majesties' support distinguishes our firm as one of the leading wine brands in Spain, one that remains attentive to the great challenges facing consumption today and is committed to innovation to continue evolving and adapting to the times.

Innovative, Open, and Curious Spirit

This year, Bodegas Ramón Bilbao celebrates its centenary, driven by the innovative, open, and curious spirit that defined its early days, and with a track record marked by excellence, curiosity, and a desire for improvement that has propelled the Spanish wine category to new heights. The winery produces wines that inspire a passion for discovery and enjoyment, exploring the uniqueness of the landscape with knowledge and respect for the environment, while supporting the local community and suppliers, creating jobs for the past century. Under this philosophy, Ramón Bilbao has positioned itself over its 100-year history as the most trusted and preferred wine by Spanish consumers and one of the most successful wineries in the world. In this regard, it is considered one of the 50 most admired wine brands globally. Its constant pursuit of new challenges has led it to actively engage in promoting wine knowledge and education, through initiatives such as the Spanish Wine Academy platform and the Spanish Wine Master competition. These initiatives aim to expand the wine culture beyond our borders, ensuring that Marca España becomes a reference for wine lovers and professionals worldwide.
