ZAMORA COMPANY CONFIRMS SILVER LEVEL IN ECOVADIS ASESSMENT

In 2024, the company increased its total number of suppliers, growing from 1,200 to 1,500 collaborators, representing a 25% increase compared to the previous year.

Zamora Company, owner of Licor 43, Pacharán Zoco, Martin Miller’s Gin, and Ramón Bilbao, among other premium wine and spirits brands, has taken a significant step in its commitment to environmental issues, social responsibility, and responsible sourcing by obtaining the Silver Medal in the EcoVadis 2025 assessment.

“Receiving the Silver Medal strengthens and reinforces our commitment and reputation as a responsible company. It evaluates our sustainability management model, which is the result of the constant and dedicated work of all our teams to care for the planet, reinforce our values, and improve every day as a responsible and conscious company,” says Marisa Almazán, Conscious Company Manager.

EcoVadis is the global reference platform for corporate sustainability assessments, evaluating over 150,000 companies worldwide each year across four key areas: environment, labor and human rights, business ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Zamora Company has clearly demonstrated its commitment to sustainability by driving various initiatives from the Purchasing department, focused on its supply chain, requiring its suppliers to provide a higher level of information, responsibility, and certification, as reflected in the recently published 2024 Conscious Company Report.

All these initiatives are part of the company’s ongoing strategy of transformation and excellence in management. For Zamora Company, working with a broader network aligned with its values means greater capacity to innovate, adapt, and lead the shift toward more sustainable production and consumption models. For this reason, Zamora Company has expanded its supplier network in recent years, reaching 1,500 collaborators in 2024. Following its Risk Management Policy, the company prioritizes contracting national and EU-based suppliers to ensure supply security and stability, as well as to support the communities where it operates.

The growth in commercial partners aligns with the company’s principle that, in addition to strengthening group competitiveness, it enhances innovation capacity, allowing suppliers to align with market demands. “Zamora Company’s procurement strategy is built around three pillars: purchasing and contracting with sustainability criteria, ESG evaluation, and considering suppliers as strategic business partners,” explains Miguel Ángel del Cano, Global Purchasing Director of Zamora Company.

Zamora Company’s Sustainable Procurement model identifies, monitors, and tracks environmental and social risks, with special attention to three key supplier categories: packaging, raw materials, and advertising materials. “Beyond the contractual relationship, at Zamora Company, we consider our suppliers essential partners for business development and achieving sustainable objectives,” adds del Cano.

Furthermore, in 2025, the company is developing a new Centralized Supplier Approval and Evaluation System, hosted on a common platform for the entire company (ITBID).

As part of its sectoral commitment, the premium beverages group is a member of the Code of Good Commercial Practices in Food Contracting by FIAB (Spanish Federation of Food and Beverage Industries), a voluntary self-regulation system promoting balanced and responsible relationships among operators in the food supply chain.
