ZAMORA COMPANY RENEWS ITS COMMITMENT TO THE UNITED NATIONS GLOBAL COMPACT FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR
Zamora Company, the owner of Licor 43 and Ramón Bilbao among other premium brands, has ratified its support for the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact for the third consecutive year, thereby contributing to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the United Nations' 2030 Agenda.
In doing so, the company reinforces its commitment to these principles covering human rights, labour, environmental protection, and anti-corruption. Its membership in the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact, which includes over 1,800 Spanish companies, reflects its model as a Conscious Company. This approach is underpinned by three key pillars—good governance, transparency, and conscious leadership—and aims to foster the well-being of employees, consumers, society, and the planet.
Zamora Company's contributions to the United Nations' principles are implemented through various programmes and initiatives, focusing on creating quality employment, enhancing employee welfare, promoting responsible production and consumption, and reducing its carbon footprint, among others.
For example, in the area of human rights, Zamora Company advances these goals through solidarity campaigns to combat poverty and food insecurity. In terms of labour standards, the company has supported the achievement of the SDGs by providing training for employees, promoting gender equality, and implementing work-life balance policies. Environmentally, the group has made significant contributions to the environmental SDGs, prioritising the fight against climate change by committing to achieve ‘zero waste’ and reduce its CO2 emissions by up to 15% in the coming year.
“Companies bear significant responsibility in driving sustainable development. Adopting the United Nations' Ten Principles as the core of our business actions is a powerful way to have a positive impact on society,” stated Javier Pijoan, CEO of Zamora Company.
