ZAMORA COMPANY WILL DISTRIBUTE EXCLUSIVELY IN SPAIN THE BRAND 'TEQUILA BUEN AMIGO'

ZAMORA COMPANY will be the exclusive distributor of 'Tequila Buen Amigo' in Spain. The family company based in Cartagena (Murcia) confirms, in this way, its commitment to expand and strengthen the portfolio of premium wines and spirits that it manages and distributes in more than 80 countries.

This new addition responds to Zamora Company's ongoing commitment to consumers. With the distribution of the 'Buen Amigo' brand, the company aims to meet the needs and consumer trends in Spain, where tequila is experiencing a significant boom. According to data from the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), in 2020 and despite the pandemic, Spain was the third largest importer of tequila in the world, importing 2.8 million litres from Mexico.

The increase in tequila consumption in Spain can be explained by various factors. On the one hand, it is one of the ten countries with the largest Mexican population, according to figures from the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In addition, it is important to take into account the consolidation of Mexican restaurants in Spain, as attested to by the Spanish Hotel and Catering Federation, which reports that there are approximately 600 restaurants specialising in this type of food.

The company's General Manager, Emilio Restoy, refers to the more than 25 years of experience of this distillate, which is handcrafted in the state of Jalisco, when explaining the reasons that have led Zamora Company to opt for this product. "For us to announce the exclusive distribution of Tequila Buen Amigo in our country, in such a special year with our 75th anniversary and in which we gradually see the recovery of the sector, is a challenge that we face with enthusiasm and from the perspective of offering premium quality to the consumer, adapting to the tastes and moments of consumption", he says. In addition to Spain, the brand is distributed in more than ten countries around the world.

Zero-kilometre processing

With decades of experience in agave harvesting and distillation, the Buen Amigo house is committed to environmental care and respect in the production process in which they take care of the smallest detail. These values coincide with the work philosophy promoted by Zamora Company, through its global strategy of Conscious Company, whose axis of vertebration includes environmental protection in the production of all the products in its portfolio.

In the case of this tequila, the ingredients are extracted from the tequilana agave fields of the blue or weber variety, located in different areas of Jalisco. It comes from places with specific climatic and orographic conditions that contribute to the production of higher quality agaves. The process is supervised at all times by the master tequilero, the architect of an artisanal production that reaches from the Mexican fields to glasses all over the world.

Gold and Silver varieties

`Tequila Buen Amigo´ has its own entity and combines tradition and modernity in a balanced way, achieving an ideal proposal for cocktails. This tequila, with a defined and smooth profile, is the perfect candidate to elaborate other creations without losing the nuances of all the ingredients.

Consumers in Spain will be able to enjoy two different varieties. On the one hand, there is Tequila Buen Amigo Gold, with a bright amber colour, in which soft aromas and fragrances of vanilla and cinnamon are distinguished, with olfactory nuances that help to emphasise flavours in the mouth with a mix of contrasting sensations at the same time: sweet and fresh. On the other hand, there is Tequila Buen Amigo Silver, with a bright crystalline tone. In the tasting, the citrus and sweet fruit notes stand out, making this variety the best choice for use in cocktails. Both products have an alcohol content of 38 proof.

New reference in premium wine and spirits brands

With this new addition, Zamora Company has positioned itself as one of the companies with one of the most complete brand portfolios in the wine and spirits sector in Spain. As part of its growth path, in 2019 the group added the management and distribution of the French champagne Vranken-Pommery Monopole. To date, it also owns leading brands such as Licor 43, Ramón Bilbao, Limoncello Villa Massa, Martin Miller's Gin, Sangría Lolea, Mar de Frades, Pacharán Zoco, Cruz de Alba, Thunder Bitch and Orujos El Afilador.

A fact that comes to magnify an especially important date for the Zamora Company family: the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the company.
