ZAMORA COMPANY WILL DISTRIBUTE EXCLUSIVELY IN SPAIN THE TEQUILA DON RAMÓN

With this addition, Zamora Company expands its offering in the main spirits categories with leading brands in the market. Casa Don Ramón includes two lines of tequila, Platinium and Cerámica, and Mezcal Salmiana.

Zamora Company, the company that owns Licor 43 and Ramón Bilbao, among other premium brands, is expanding its portfolio in Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar with the exclusive marketing and distribution of the ultra-premium agave distillate range of Casa Don Ramón, a 100% Mexican brand that includes tequila and mezcal of exceptional quality.
The family company based in Cartagena, Murcia, confirms its commitment to expand and strengthen the portfolio of premium wines and spirits that it manages and distributes in more than 80 countries. With this new addition, Zamora Company continues to position itself as one of the Spanish companies with the most complete portfolio of premium wines and spirits brands in the country.

The new agreement is in addition to the recent exclusive management and distribution in Iberia of Tito's, the second best-selling vodka in the world. Zamora Company also markets Ron Abuelo, Champagne Pommery and Tequila Buen Amigo in Spain, and owns leading brands such as Licor 43, Ramón Bilbao, Limoncello Villa Massa, Martin Miller's Gin, Sangría Lolea, Mar de Frades, Pacharán Zoco, Cruz de Alba, Thunder Bitch and Orujos El Afilador. ‘The incorporation of Casa Don Ramón responds to Zamora Company's ongoing commitment to consumers and its commitment to meet the needs and consumer trends in Spain, where tequila is currently experiencing a major boom, being the most dynamic spirits category that supports the greatest growth,’ explains Javier Pijoan, CEO of Zamora Company. In fact, Spain is the ninth country in the world in tequila consumption and a strategic player due to its tourism potential, with more than 1.6 million litres consumed in 2024.

‘We are very pleased with the agreement reached with Casa Don Ramón, which extends the one signed with The IIDEA Company in 2021 through Tequila Buen Amigo, allowing us to complete our offer in agave distillates and become a key partner in the brand's development strategy in the world,’ says Carlos Gallego, Iberia cluster director of Zamora Company.
Specifically, the Casa Don Ramón portfolio comprises two lines of tequila, Platinium and Cerámica, and Mezcal Salmiana. The Platinium line, in its Silver and Reposado Cristalino expressions, is the brand's flagship, a 100% blue agave tequila from the highlands of Jalisco. The Casa Don Ramón Cerámica Special Edition Luis Miguel collection is a tribute to excellence and an homage to Mexico's cultural heritage. Cerámica Plata is cooked in masonry ovens, concentrating the agave sugars and giving it an artisanal flavour during fermentation, while Cerámica Añejo is aged in oak barrels for a year. Mezcal Don Ramon Salmiana is a young mezcal that offers a unique experience with smoky, citrus and floral aromas, made with absolute respect for the agave culture.

International growth

The 100% Mexican brand Tequila Don Ramón arrives in Spain as part of its ambitious strategy to expand worldwide and become one of the benchmarks in the category. Tequila Don Ramón is currently present in more than 50 countries around the world, and now adds Spain by virtue of the agreement signed with Zamora Company.

In December 2023, Mexican artist Luis Miguel, the image of Tequila Don Ramón, became a shareholder of this brand that is synonymous with quality and innovation and recognised with more than 50 medals in international competitions across its broad portfolio of products. ‘We are delighted to enter the Spanish market, which is promising with significant consumption figures and a great affinity for tequila and Mexican culture. Our goal is to satisfy the most demanding palates with the best possible distillate,’ says Ernesto Acuña, Marketing Director of Tequila Don Ramón.
